Paul Gascoigne: Osvaldo Ardiles may have accidentally revealed Gazza IS playing at the Tottenham legends match

It appears Tottenham Hotspur hero Paul Gascoigne WILL play in the club’s legends match against Inter Milan.

The game is due to be the final test event at their new stadium ahead of its official opening against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

Gascoigne’s participation hadn’t been confirmed but Gary Mabbutt, who will manage the Spurs team, had told talkSPORT it would be down to the midfielder’s fitness.

He said: “Since I was given the role as manager, I contacted players three or four weeks ago initially to see if they were available.

“I contacted Gazza – we know what a great player and a huge fans’ favourite he is.

“With Paul, the idea is obviously very exciting but he’s having to evaluate his fitness.”

The former England man posted a clip of himself training on social media, adding to the excitement for fans.

Now though, another Tottenham hero seems to have accidentally confirmed it on Twitter.

Osvaldo Ardiles is famed for his spell at White Hart Lane, alongside fellow Argentine Ricky Villa, winning the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup.

Still very much a hero in north London, despite a wild managerial reign in the early 1990s, Ardiles has been at the new Tottenham Stadium ahead of the match tonight and begun posting pictures on Twitter.

One shows the changing room with numerous shirts hung up, including ones for Darren Anderton, Jurgen Klinsmann, and David Ginola, while in the far right is a cut-off shirt with jut ‘Gas’ and the number eight showing – pointing to Gazza being selected for the squad.

The picture also confirms Nayim will wear the No.50 shirt to troll Arsenal fans, after his famous ‘goal from the halfway line’ to help Real Zaragoza defeat the Gunners in the 1995 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final.
