Manchester United have been told by Spurs they will have to cough up at least £60million if they want to sign Christian Eriksen, according to reports.
The Red Devils are planning a massive overhaul of the squad, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hugely dissatisfied with his current crop following their barren run of form in which they have recorded seven defeats in nine matches.
Eriksen, 27, has one year left on a contract that earns him a reported £70,000-a-week, but has been stalling on signing a new deal amid interest from LaLiga giants Real Madrid.
Los Blancos were reportedly weighing up a £100m bid to acquire his services at the turn of the year – and according to the Evening Standard, United are now thought to have joined the race for his signature.
Getting Eriksen to sign a new deal could be vital to any hopes Spurs have of bringing silverware to the club as he has once again been crucial this season, racking up seven goals and 12 assists in 32 league matches.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino revealed he is open to discussing a new deal and he remains convinced that he will tie up a new contract for the playmaker.
However, United are reportedly willing to double the wages of his current deal in an attempt to lure him to Old Trafford.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a notoriously stern businessman and it is said he will not entertain any offers under £60m.
He would prefer to negotiate with a club abroad in order not to sell Eriksen to a Premier League rival – but the club who have shown the most interest, Real, have now made United’s Paul Pogba their top summer target.
Furthermore, reports earlier this week stated Bernebeu deal-makers were reluctant to strike up a deal with Levy due to their difficulty of signing Gareth Bale in 2013.
The Welshman eventually moved on transfer deadline day for a record £85m, despite Real opening talks with Tottenham months earlier.
