Newcastle United can stake a claim to being one of the most consistent teams in the Premier League.
Rafael Benitez’s side are so consistent they have exactly the same record as they did at the same point last season.
Matt Ritchie scored a late goal against Bournemouth on Saturday to rescue a point for Newcastle.
They moved onto 35 points from 31 games and are currently 13th in the table.
Oddly, after the same number of matches in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, Benitez’s side had won nine, drawn eight and lost 14 matches.
Even more bizarrely they had scored 31 goals and conceded 40 in both campaigns.
They will no doubt be hoping for a similar finish to last season.
The Magpies went on to take nine points from their final seven games as they finished 10th.
They ended the campaign with 12 wins, eight draws, 18 defeats, 39 goals scored and 47 conceded.
The priority for Benitez, though, is securing their Premier League survival and he feels that one more win will do it.
